A few weekends ago, I had the pleasure of throwing my dear friends Roisin and Rob a baby shower! As the colour palette may divulge, they are expecting a girl, which meant the decorations were oozing with pink and undeniably girly.
For lunch we had sliders and Curried Chicken Naan Tacos and my sister made a fabulous citrus salad (recipe forthcoming). I went a little nutty with the desserts and made a four tier cake in shades of pink (inspired by this picture) with swiss meringue buttercream icing (amazing recipe). I also made up some cheesecake lollipops in white and milk chocolate - they were a definite hit. We kept the kiddies entertained/hyper with striped straws topped with pink and yellow cotton candy (to their Mom & Dad's horror no doubt)(clearly I'm not a parent yet).
I potted some hens and chicks as a thank you for the guests and of course the happy couple was spoiled with lots of fabulous gifts (oh and seriously, how cute is that chair Roisin's been working on for the nursery). I had so much fun planning for the shower and it was a great day, despite the hideous temperature (brrr)! Cory and I can't wait for a month from now when this sweet little gal makes her debut!!
