And so with the arrival of fall I thought it a great time to return to blogging…but then I was buried under a mountain of work, never posted this and now it's nearly November. So it looks like the end of fall shall signify my return to this blog...but I'll keep the pictures above because who doesn't love a leafy fall photo?! I've been on quite a hiatus, where to begin? The most significant news would be the birth of our daughter Lucy this past February!
- Pause for obligatory oohs and awwws -
What's she like you ask? Well, she's curious, smiles constantly and really enjoys staring at her hands. She's been described as "chill" by many people, which will presumably be temporary, but is a compliment we are quite happy to take.
Of course despite her Spicoli-level-chill, that's not to discount the craziness of the early weeks of Lucy and the combination of late night feedings, unpredictable naps and self-employment. Maternity leave who? A highlight was screen-printing 1200, 4 layer cards while she was just a few months old and Cory was working full time - fun! But we made it through that crazy time, are preparing for (fearing?) the crazy days of crawling and walking, and are enjoying this parenting gig. I'll spare you the cheesy baby-love soliloquy, but in short, Lucy is a smiley bundle of adorableness, I basically hear this song every morning when I get her up and life is busy and messy but so very good.
I'll save the Flakes Paperie update, including lots of photos of the newest designs, for the next post. The One of a Kind Show is fast approaching and these cards aren't going to print themselves!
Thanks for reading once again. Now to close, a song from one of my favourite albums of last year - perfect for a fall drive...
